I'm curious as to what they all look like. These are mine.

Not my pic (they're blanks), but this is what my keys look like (round one opens doors, square one starts car).

Blanks, but that's what the key itself looks like.
Then, there's the stock fob.
The other fob is the one for the remote start, that can also lock and unlock.

No idea. My parents have never owned american cars.

Not my exact key, but if you've seen 1 VW switchblade, you've seen them all.
![]() 11/12/2014 at 14:20 |

I'd say from the 1960s to at least 2000. They used the same keys for a loooooong time.

Switchblade key FTW
![]() 11/12/2014 at 14:28 |

I know some Fords (crown Vic and T-bird) had them till the late '90s at least.

Most of my keys look like that, but the square one is for ignition and doors, round is for the trunk only. All 4 of my cars are that way (ranging from 1967 to 1985) so I don't know what up with your car...
![]() 11/12/2014 at 14:30 |

MkIV GTI, dorm room, and bike lock keys plus one VR6 head gasket keychain

No idea. It's a weird one, this. It's the only car I've seen to have a fender rust through from the outside in.

Usually I have those. Ideous Citroën Xsara keys.
But currently I have these on my desk, regular VW keys...
The car it oppens is much more interesting (for you NA jalops) than the key fob. They are to a 2001 VW Passat Wagon, powered by the mighty 2.5L V6 TDI, the same engine you could find in the first gen Audi Allroad.
Though the Passat doesn't have 4motion

I have a lot of cars/keys.

Mercury Tracer, Ford Explorer, gun safe and P-38 can opener, bottle opener.

Ah. I see your's has the same issue as mine (well it's an older Citroën key, but same issue here), and as my father's current (and previous) Peugeot keys.

Hey, thanks! The rust on the original 2002 key is actually a new addition, but I like it. I keep the spare (which is new) at home because I know it will always work. The Hotwheels keychain was given to me by a 2002 buddy for high school graduation. I love this thing. And the it gets beat to hell in my pocket, it looks more and more like my car, so yay(?)

Sadly nothing that exciting just a old school can opener.
